  • When I read the 'article' I thought I'd been smoking whacky baccy. I hadn't, but it did give me a belly laugh. The thought of 17+ hours on the squeezy Boeing 787 in sardine class gives proof of calling it a nightmare plane. Where will the exercise equipment and bars be on that aircraft in any sec...

Feb 05, 2019, 01.28 AM / Qantas: cafes, gyms and 'chill zones' for non-stop 20 hour flights

  • I've travelled in all sections of the 787 and had nightmare flights every time. Do these people who "redesign" the cabin actually travel in the sardine section or the PE chairs for 14 - 18+ hours? It's all very fine gussying up the business section with the new chairs, but as AJ007 mentioned. ban...

Jan 04, 2019, 06.46 PM / Qantas: upgraded Airbus A380s will begin flying in August 2019

  • Qantas broke my carry-on bag when it was checked in. It replaced the bag with the standard sized domestic bag. Trouble is, that bag is quite heavy. Add a couple of dresses, a light-weight pair of shoes, a wet pack and the combination is over 7 kg. The laptop will go in my handbag. Looks like I ne...

Dec 17, 2018, 08.09 PM / Qantas cracks down on domestic carry-on baggage

  • Why oh why does every plate have to have leafy green stuff all over the food? Not everyone likes the stuff and then has to peal it all off. Even when you ask for none of the stuff, the kitchen staff insist on using it - on your meal. (Haven't seen it yet on the deserts!)

Dec 09, 2018, 04.46 PM / Sampling the Qantas first class lounge’s Summer 2018 menu

  • The "secret" is far out now - B5 & J5. As a single traveller those seats are heaven. I do love the comforting gentle roar of the Queen's four engines. So soporific. The sleeping pods that slant keep my head above my feet, what's more they are well off the floor. In the nightmare 787 the flat ...

  • It'll be a great day when all the Qantas Airbus380s are gone. It was the company's biggest mistake. It should have purchased a long haul Boeing, either the 777 or the latest technologically updated 747. Unfortunately 20/20 hindsight is totally useless. The squeezy 787 just doesn't cut the mustard...

    Feb 08, 2019, 06.01 PM / Qantas Finally Cancels Remaining Airbus A380s

  • The Queens are aged, and Alan Joyce wants them gone in 2020. Has he not recognised 2021 is the golden anniversary of the first one to go into service for Qantas? No replacement model of plane, no matter what the new technology, will ever last this long, nor will it revolutionise air travel. Retai...

Feb 05, 2019, 01.37 AM / Last Qantas 747 with F seats being phased out

  • I see some converts to the 747 in the comments above. She far exceeds the capacity of the squeezy new little 787 nightmare flight. The latter uses less fuel but has to make more journeys. Qantas needs the Boeing 777 with the new technology and the old passenger capacity.

    Dec 12, 2018, 06.19 PM / Qantas extends Boeing 747s for Sydney-Honolulu

  • Farewell, lovely Queen of the Sky. You'll be sorely missed from Brisbane. I now have to go to Sydney to catch her to San Francisco, but it's worth the ride. I can take American Airlines across North America."Dreamliner", my foot. Someone should be sued for false advertising. The fuselage m...

Dec 09, 2018, 05.14 PM / End of an era - last Qantas Boeing 747 services for Brisbane this week

  • Access to the first lounge in Sydney and/or Melbourne is no incentive if you never travel internationally through either of those ports.
