  • I would agree that Qantas’ bed is very comfortable but everything else in F is just J+. Wines are very average and food is so so. Recently did a trip with EK - 3 sectors in the 777 in F and 1 in the A380 F - excellent on all 4 legs.

  • As far as I know all public servants at the deputy secretary/ Sec level get CL membership - there would be a pretty hefty number of them. Health for e.g. would have 6 at least. Smaller departments have fewer.

  • I have just applied for Estas for myself and husband, as a group. Not sure how long it took, but I checked after 48 hours and they were approved. Previously it was very quick, but because they said 72 hours I didn’t check for a few days.

  • We fly first when we can afford it, but have become picky about who we will fly. Pretty much SQ and EK at the moment. Qantas F is J+ and so is BA, but they charge the same (although you can pick up heavily discounted F tickets, which makes it a bit more acceptable). We are certainly not fabulo...

  • We are booked for Canberra NYC in May - booked a few months ago and at that point not all the New York - Doha (and vice versa) planes were Qsuites. We have ended up with 3 Qsuites and one normal J, although of course that might change by the time we fly. Really looking forward to trying Qsuites.

  • You have your QC membership that will get you into all the AA ones. To be quite honest they are pretty marginal (apart from the Flagship ones which are nice). They give you a quiet place to sit and a drink and a few snacks.

  • I have flown all over the world with the tags on and never had a problem (nor been told to take them off at Canberra airport), however my daughter has been told to remove them when flying out of Canberra, so who knows.....
