Google offers free Quickoffice app for iPhone, iPad and Android

If you're often hit by the headache of working with Microsoft Office documents on your iPhone, iPad or Android-powered device, Google is about to get you smiling again.

The online supremo is now offering its Quickoffice mobile app, which let users create, view and edit Microsoft Office files, as a freebie for anybody with a Google account.

Quickoffice was previously free only to Google Apps for Business subscribers, and priced at US$15 to US$20 for everybody else (depending on if you downloaded the standard or HD version).

The app covers the latest document versions for Word, Excel and PowerPoint and is also integrated with Google Drive to let you  easily store and access documents across devices.

Google has also added the ability to create ZIP folders and view charts in Excel and PowerPoint files.

As a bonus, you can score an extra 10GB of Google Drive storage for the next two years by signing into your Google account from the Quickoffice app by September 26, 2013.
