Earn double status credits with Virgin Australia

Virgin Australia is giving the gift of double status credits in its Velocity Frequent Flyer scheme.

The deal is open to all Velocity members, reagrdless of their current status level, and there's no bothersome pre-registration process.

Just book a domestic or international Virgin Australia flight from now until December 31st 2013, with travel to take place between February 1st and June 30th 2014.

Note that this applies only to Virgin Australia-operated flights. Codeshares services with partners such as Air New Zealand, Eithad Airways and Singapore Airlines won't get you that bonus serve of status credits.

If you're flying with family members, you can also take advantage of Velocity's family pooling to funnel the status credits for all travellers towards a single account in order to reach Velocity Gold or Platinum status – or keeping your current status for the next 12 months of their membership.

Qantas is also running a double status credits deals for all Qantas Frequent Flyers, although it's limited to domestic Qantas flights – you'll need to register for the promotion at  qantas.com/double, book your flights by December 31st and be travelling no later than January 31st, 2014.

eugoose: I would say this is a safe assumption. These deals are designed to get attract & lock down new bookings, existing bookings don't get nothin'.

...so in fact no double status credits for Christmas.

    Some time after?!

One wonders if they'll be faster to post than the QF ones...
