Qantas/AA JV to be approved

Found this while reading some online news on google. I know it quotes an anonymous resource but I will give it a little bit of weight seeing it was picked up by SBS. It will be interesting to see what conditions are part of the approval.

There is tentative approval in which any objections must show cause. Full approval will follow shortly.

Fantastic news. Now to get those planes into the sky. QF can use the 787 that were earmarked for the PER to CDG route.

The one thing Qantas / AA could do that would have a big impact on travelers would be to put US pre-clearance centers into Melbourne, Sydney, and maybe Brisbane. That would open up a bunch more destinations in the US that they could fly direct into, and remove the need to have transit passengers collect and re-check bags on arrival in the US. As someone who travels between the US and Canada regularly I can tell you this arrangement is great.

Oh yes! Tremendous idea! As you say like Canada but also Dublin
Shannon ... How do we encourage that as a part of the JV?? The petition has my signature!!!
