MEL-KUL or SYD-KUL QF Status Credits

QFF Status credits calculator does not give any option of business class status credits earn rate on the above sectors, the maximum is flexible economy. Please help me understand.

You'd fly to SIN and then connect to a Jetstar flight for SIN-KUL

So you need to lookup MEL/SYD-SIN and SIN-KUL.

When flying Malaysia Airline between Australia and Malaysia, Qantas treats Business Class as Flexible Economy for the purposes of allocating status credits and points. So you will fly Malaysia Business Class, but be awarded Flexible Economy Status Credits and Points.

This is true for any MH "Flights between Australia and Malaysia, UK or Europe*; New Zealand and Malaysia, UK or Europe*; and Malaysia and UK, Europe* or Middle East"

Brinkers is correct,
MH is the only oneworld airline flying this route and QFs 'simpler fairer' changes were anything but for this route

I would go with MEL/SYD - SIN with QF or with EK with QF code share to earn the most QF SC, then MAS from SIN - KUL or 3K if you must, SIN - KUL.
Flying MAS from Au to KUL these days is near worthless in the lower SC earning classes, even flying MAS J will earn at flexY rates of SC earn.

After sponsoring MH into oneworld, QF and MH had a falling out when the QF proposed intra Asia premium A320 carrier "Red Q" failed (QF wanted to partner with MH in the new airline and set it up at the KUL hub).

When QFF made the "fairer and simpler" changes and the EK partnership, they treated AU/NZ-KUL and KUL-EU/UK as 'competing' with QF flights and cut the earning on such MH flights.
In general, the halved the SC/point earn on non QF code oneworld flights and certain other flights, like those deemed to be competing on the Kangaroo route, got a worse treatment.

On MH, you would need to be flying within Asia via KUL to earn a reasonable amount of points/SC for the class traveled.

QF wants you to travel via SIN on 3K and connect to QF codes.

And look up Malaysian Airlines

Yeah - it's the most terrible earn rate. If you fly SIN-KUL in Business you'll get MORE status credits than if you were to fly SYD/MEL-KUL in Business LOL.

I actually want to fly BNE-MAA, obviously MH is the cheapest on J, followed by CX, etc etc. If i fly MH, i get around 155 status credits each way (as the flight is routed as BNE-MEL-KUL-MAA or SYD), and CX is 140 status credits. Hence, my question...Thank you all for your feedback.
