Virgin Atlantic arrivals lounge LAX?

Hi all,

We are travelling J class from LHR to LAX on Virgin Atlantic in a week. We then have a domestic US (not linked ticket) with a layover of about 7 hours. Just wondering what lounge options we have?

TIA

This depends on if you have any elite status with airlines, and your onward ticket. But just from your Business ticket in LAX, there is no 'revivals' lounge as VS calls it, in LAX.

If your ticket is on Delta, with the departure on the same day, you will have access to Delta lounges (regardless of class of travel for your Delta flight).

Other than that, you are likely out of luck.

I'm told that in LAX, access to the Clubhouse on arrival for Upper Class passengers is somewhat of an unpublished benefit: it requires an onward flight (because it's in the secure area of the airport, which needs a boarding pass to enter), and requires the lounge to be open (the LAX Clubhouse opens from 5-10:45am and again from 12:30pm until the last Virgin Atlantic flight boards, although the true Clubhouse service only kicks in from 12:30pm, as in the mornings, it's essentially a Priority Pass lounge).

If you had plenty of time between arriving in LAX and your American Airlines flight, it wouldn't hurt to try the Clubhouse (your AA boarding pass lets you enter any of the LAX terminals). I don't believe there's a bus direct to T4 where AA departs, although there's certainly an airside bus from Terminal 2 (where the Clubhouse is located) over to the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) - did that myself earlier this year: just make sure you're in the correct queue, as the queue for the bus to T3 is directly next to it. Then, as TBIT is linked airside with Terminal 4 (the American Airlines gates), so you could walk from TBIT across to T4 without clearing security again to board your AA flight.

For more info on the Clubhouse, have a read of my review.
