Complimentary VA Gold when booking two premium economy tickets to LA

A targeted offer from VA. Was sent to my partner, who is a VA Red member. I’m Gold and was sent a 10% discount and double points offer on Econ/Prem to LA..

Email mentioned their Global Alliance which I found amusing considering of the four airlines listed, one was their own airline and one just left their ‘alliance’

How does this make other VA FF’s feel?

I'm VA Platinum and got an email for a 10% discount and 20,000 bonus points for a PE return flight.

I don't really have a problem with a complimentary Gold status for 2(!!) return PE trips. That's 480 SCs right there anyway which is almost Gold.

I agree. I think it is great they are doing these campaigns. Hopefully it works for them. At least there is a bit of work involved, moreso then a status match.

I received the same offer. At around the time that I am booking flights to the US. I wish there was a J promotion though...

The amount of people in the priority boarding queue these days on a domestic flight is more than those in the regular queue some days. I know why that is now with offers like this all the time!

I was sent a survey request by their community and one of the questions was asking my feelings towards Economy X PAX without status being given priority boarding. So they know that we are not happy about it.

Economy X passengers having prioirty boarding makes sense given their bags have to go up in the locker.

I’m VA gold and got the discount and bonus points email in addition to a few others mostly regarding travel to USA or Hong Kong.

All seemed like good deals if I was going anytime soon

Don't forget to check the fine print. You have to have two or more Velocity members in the booking for it to count. Solo travellers cannot travel twice and get Gold.

How quickly is this being turned around? I was targeted, I booked yesterday (Tuesday) and I hope it comes through before I fly with VA to Perth from Sydney (and onward to JNB) on Saturday. Is there any way to accelerate the Pilot Gold?

Have been VA Gold for a while now & have never received any offers. Hard to find reward seats to LAX in both PE & J. NZ has PE seats $1000 cheaper than VA year round, sure it is via AKL, but that is a big saving. Unfortunately since October 2017, points & status on NZ are a thing of the past. NZ informed of the recent demise of the VA/NZ "alliance", still waiting for VA. Becoming harder & harder to justify staying with Velocity as you watch partnership after partnership dissolve.

I booked the flights for this offer but they are not upgrading me until 10 days before the LAX flights. This is not what the offer terms state :(
