Lounge Access on a Delta ticket

By its_dunks | Mar 18, 2018, 12:41 PM
This has no doubt been answered numerous times and I’ve read a few threads and the virgin website but getting conflicting answers. I’m a Gold Velocity member and am trying to found out what lounge access I have.

The gist of my trip is:

SYD - LAX on Delta ticket

LAX - JFK on Delta Ticket

LAX - SYD on Delta ticket

Any help would be appreciated

The 'international lounge access' page on the Virgin Australia website should be pretty clear - select 'Velocity Gold' and flights operated by Delta.

In Sydney, it's the Skyteam Lounge. In Los Angeles, I would assume it would be their Sky Club lounge it whatever terminal you're leaving from. Access is granted on purely domestic flights too.

I've had no issue's with Delta Lounge access - just make sure you carry your membership card. VA Platinum.

Have your card and be willing to pull up the website if there is any confusion.
Otherwise according to the global lounge page these are your lounges when flying delta.

Los Angeles, USADelta Air Lines Sky Club Velocity Gold membership1

You should have no issues on those sectors. You'll even see in most Delta lounges now they have all their partner airlines listed. In fact they even call out their partner airlines when you're on board.

There is no issues, you will have access to the Delta SkyClub everywhere. Just make sure you say Velocity and Virgin Australia because it confuses them sometimes if they haven't had many VA members come in.

You shouldn’t have any issues, but in addition to taking your VA Gold membership card, I also suggest taking a print out of the VA ‘International Lounge Access’ website too. Came in handy for me in ATL once when the lounge gate keeper didn’t know that VA was a real airline.

On a recent trip to the US with lots of domestic flights on DL, I had no issues whatsoever getting Sky Club access anywhere as a VA Plat. Not one 'strange look' or any apparent confusion as to my access eligibility. Simply presented my VFF card and boarding pass.

Only last month I did a handful of domestic flights on delta. Most sky clubs said not to worry about the card because my status was on the boarding pass however Denver I did need my card.

In previous years I had issues with getting my VA status recognised never major ones but I think delta is improving in this regard.
