Thai Airways Airbus A350s to Melbourne?

By afloskar | Aug 10, 2017, 04:43 PM

Over the next few months, Thai airways will put more modern aircraft and increase frequencies to Melbourne and Auckland

Auckland

From the 29th of October they will see the 787-9 and an increase from 5-7 weekly.

Melbourne

From the 1st of February Melbourne will finally see the A350 on both double daily flights to the city.

Good to see Thai upgrading their product to Oceania!

They also need to put some certainty around their 747-400 to & from Sydney. Not swap planes at the last minute and leave the passengers high & dry.

Given how many times Thai has now scheduled the A350 to Melbourne and then replaced it with something else for one reason or another, I must say I'll believe it when I see the A350 touch down at Tullamarine! :)

An airline that is very much behind the times and declined a lot. Used to fly them a lot 10 years ago.

That is true that Thai had declined a bit a couple of years ago. However, they must have had a new policy this last year as it has, to my mind, considerably improved their soft product. I am talking about the buisness class between MEL and BKK (777-300, 1-2-1 config) and A380 First between BKK and CDG (particularly food and wine list and service) - they now even provide a mattress in business (they might be a flight duration or night/day condition though)
