Snag free Accor A|Club Platinum frequent guest status

By John Walton     Filed under: frequent guest program, Accor, Pullman, Sofitel, MGallery, Accor A Club

Snap up Accor A|Club top tier Platinum frequent guest status, bringing you bonus points plus benefits at Pullman, Sofitel and MGallery business hotels, with a semi-secret signup code.

A|Club Platinum isn't the greatest top-level status out there, with no official benefits at Accor's other hotels, like Novotels, Mercures, Grand Mercures, and so on.

But at Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery hotels, you're up for:

  • a room upgrade, subject to availability and only if you ask
  • 4pm checkout, if available)
  • 72-hour guaranteed availability

These offers come round every so often, as regular readers will know, but this particular link is targeted at UAE-resident Citi Premier Miles World Elite MasterCard (and you thought United's new names for things were confusing...).

And it's officially open only until May 31, but history shows that hotels close signup promotions early once the frequent flyer blogs get hold of it -- so act soon!

Tip of the AusBT hat to blogger Gary Leff, who was the first one we saw to spot this promo.

It's also possible that Accor might well decide not to honour the promotion for non-UAE addresses. But if free platinum status is a draw, head on over to the A|Club signup link. Worst case, you're out a few minutes of signup; best case, you're a newly-minted Platinum.

You mention in this article that Velocity Platinum members can recieve Accor Platinum status via Europcar status.

In fact, it looks like the Europcar status only entitles Accor members to Gold status?

I think you may be looking under the Velocity Gold section in the Velocity-Europcar-Accor article...

I'm looking at the Europcar website:

"Privelege Elite:

All the benefits of Privilege Executive PLUS

  • up to 30% off leisure rentals abroad (20% off domestic)
  • free weekend car rental
  • free additional driver cover
  • direct access to Accor’s A|Club Gold card
  • 200 A|Club bonus points on first stay in Accor hotels"

Huh. That's interesting -- I'll chase that up today. Thanks for flagging it!

So, I've just got off the phone with Europcar, who confirm that the Velocity-Europcar-Accor option is A|Club Gold. Their rep was at a loss to why it said differently previously.

Thanks for following that up John, what a shame!

Hi John, I'm  new ABT fan i am hoping to hear that my A/Club membership can still be up up-graded to platinum despite this article being a couple of months ago? It would be so amazing if it were true.

I'm not entirely sure -- but why don't you have a go and see what happens?

Thankyou John. I certainly tried but was unsuccessful. Thankful I can follow future news and updates.
