IN BRIEF | Heading to Asia for a short trip? There's a good deal on a roaming SIM card that could save you even more money than usual.

Bridge Alliance -- a consortium of mobile networks in the region -- is offering a good promotion on its Bridge AsiaRoam DataSIM cards for American Express cardholders -- buy one day of access, get one free.

As we've previously reported, the SIM card works in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand or India, and provides unlimited data usage for a flat daily fee of US$12.

The card costs US$15 to buy, which normally includes one day's usage, but if you're an Amex cardholder, it will come with two days' usage credited.

After the second day, it reverts to the standard rate of $US12 per day.
