Fifty-two Australian banks and credit unions now support digital credit and debit card payments via Apple Pay, but is your card issuer among them?
At the forefront: American Express Australia and ANZ, both early adopters of Apple Pay and which allow customers to link their credit or charge card to their iPhone or Apple Watch, and make contactless Apple Pay payments at the scan of a fingerprint or the click of the button.
Eligible American Express personal and business cards include:
- The Platinum Charge, Platinum Edge, Platinum Business and Business Accelerator cards
- The Qantas Ultimate, Qantas Premium, Qantas Discovery and Qantas Business Rewards cards
- The Velocity Platinum, Velocity Escape and Velocity Business cards
- American Express Explorer, American Express Business Explorer and American Express Essential
- The David Jones and David Jones Platinum cards, and
- The Gold Business and Green Business cards
Over at ANZ, customers can use Apple Pay with the bank’s Mastercard and Visa products: a roster that includes the ANZ Qantas Frequent Flyer Black, Platinum and Classic cards; ANZ Rewards Black, Platinum and Classic; ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures and all ANZ Visa Debit cards too.
Further afield, HSBC, Macquarie Bank and Latitude Financial are also on board, covering cards like the HSBC Platinum Qantas Visa, the Hilton Honors Macquarie Platinum Visa and the 28 Degrees Platinum Mastercard.
