  • Phily, I think there are really only 2 versions, QF just treat the 6 ERs as different to the 3 non-ERs that have the Skybed2. So those 9 aircraft have the single J seats in row 5. The one remaining 747 with F is the second seating version and is the only 747 that does not have the single J seats.

  • Yes I know of ACCC issue, however, in the current situation, there is no competition on PER-HKG direct because there is only one operator. If you consider indirect services there is plenty of competition and this would continue if QF and CX cooperated to provide a better customer service on the ...

    Oct 31, 2017, 01.48 PM / Qantas almost certainly won't order all 45 Boeing 787s

  • The Perth market would be well served by Qantas cooperating with Cathay and JAL for Perth-Hong Kong and Tokyo. For example a daily service for each of QF and CX at different times to Hong Kong would be an improvement over the current schedule. There are several reasons this won’t happen,...

  • AJ is selling Qantas’s vision of expanded direct services to Eu and Nth America. Aside from the question of “with a full passenger load” it is achievable in the next 5 years. JB doesn’t have clear direction for VA international, so he is talking about what might happ...

  • Qantas could fix the PE legroom issue by removing one row of Y from the forward cabin and the distribute the 32inches across PE and the remaining rows of Y. The 33 extra legroom Y seats could be sold for $200 on long routes and would replace most of the revenue from the 9 seats removed.

  • 23/3/18 will be the second last A380 QF10 before the change to 787 via Perth. If WiFi is to be fitted to the A380s, I would expect that the pending refurb would be the best opportunity for that work. (Not by March 1.

  • Travel cards are useful if you want to lock in an exchange rate for future travel, but otherwise I prefer to use an FX fee free credit card. I still get points and I pay it into credit before I leave, so there are no interest charges on cash withdrawals.

  • PE on points is 75% of the points for J if flying QF, 80% on partners such as CX and JAL. Clearly PE is better than Y, but J is far better value for your points. Your biggest problem will be getting 4 classic award seats on the same flight, unless you are a QFF P1.If you are looking at return tra...

  • Yes 2 A330-200s still have Skybed 1. They were not included in the fleet upgrade because the plan was to return them at the end of their leases, but the plan changed. I thought there had been talk of upgrading them sometime in the near future.

Nov 10, 2017, 12.40 AM / Does Qantas still have A330s with the old Skybed?

  • Which airline ? You won't get PE on BNE-LHR end-to-end with Qantas or any of the ME3. Most certainly will with Cathay and I expect on some Singapore, depending on their aircraft on BNE-SIN.
