QF96 and QF9 don’t connect in MEL, so LAX-PER is typically sold using a domestic flight for MEL-PER in conjunction with QF96. There will be some domestic pax on QF9 out of MEL, so still not easy to judge the split at PER. For what it is worth AJ did comment on the strength of PER-LHR boo...
Apr 04, 2018, 08.51 AM / Can the new ultra-long non-stop flights really save you much time?
CX is the quickest route for PER-JFK, both flights out of PER connect and you get the single transit stop rather than 2 with QF or VA. Have done QF and CX and definitely prefer CX.
Apr 03, 2018, 11.38 PM / Using Qantas frequent flyer points to book Cathay Pacific flights
I could find evidence that ADL-SIN was canned by QF in 2013. I would think this was about the same time as PER. My main point was that the solution that QF implemented to return to PER-SIN may not be applicable to ADL-SIN, so then their only current option is A330s, which are heavily in demand....
Mar 31, 2018, 01.30 PM / Qantas eyes Chicago as next non-stop Boeing 787 route
Like Adelaide, Perth went through a period of no QF international flights. Singapore service returned with 737s, however I suspect that Adelaide - Singapore is on the edge of the 737 range so a similar strategy may not work. You may be waiting for a new aircraft type if they can’t justif...
Mar 31, 2018, 10.29 AM / Qantas eyes Chicago as next non-stop Boeing 787 route
Previous comments on QF 9 say 25 seats blocked and no cargo. Is it possible to be only 500kg short of MTOW with these restrictions ? That is only 6 or so passengers.

The traffic might be less of a problem than immigration. My recent experience there made LAX look good!
Apr 21, 2018, 10.55 PM / Doha transit - time for a look around?
As a gold frequent flyer I only get offered the rear 2 rows in PE on QF9. I have not seen the front row of PE offered at an extra fee. As an aside I could not find a schedule of extra legroom fees on Qantas’s website.

Mar 09, 2018, 10.10 PM / New route to NY
From Perth you can avoid both SYD and LAX with CX PER-HKG-JFK. Consistent product on both sectors and a good transit experience in HKG. I guess there will be another one stop option soon with SQ on the A350ULR.
