I sat in an exit row on an SQ A330 last week, which means having a direct view of the toilets. I was surprised to see cleaning start just an hour into the flight. It would be interesting to see the cleaning policies of the major airlines we use. Does QF even clean the toilets on a PER-SIN flight?
Feb 15, 2019, 09.33 AM / Qantas: upgraded Airbus A380s will begin flying in August 2019
Airbus are more or less at the end of all their current development programs. So what come next ? Perhaps a 777x competitor, that is just a bit wider.
Feb 15, 2019, 01.09 AM / RIP superjumbo: Airbus axes the A380
If Qantas put more legroom in the A380 PE they would be acknowledging that they got it wrong on the 787s. I am not sure how short you have to be for their new PE to be comfortable, but I concluded I was better off with an extra legroom seat in Y and that comes cheaper on other carriers.

Someone whose parents didn’t think through their choice of names!
Feb 08, 2019, 12.24 AM / John Borghetti leaves Virgin Australia in March as new CEO takes over
Waiting to see if QF will acknowledge that 38 inch pitch on the revolutionary PE seat was a mistake and do better on the A380 upgrades.
Jan 28, 2019, 10.58 AM / Qantas: cafes, gyms and 'chill zones' for non-stop 20 hour flights
Seems to me that boarding time increases for every passenger not using a paper boarding pass. Boarding (or at least getting through the gate) was much faster when everyone used the magnetic strip boarding passes.

Singapore Airlines, have had good deals on PE for direct SIN to NYC. Depending on where you live you might get a PE service to SIN. The NYC connection works best from PER, however SQ seem to have decided not to offer PE out of PER.
Feb 19, 2019, 12.10 AM / Best Premium Economy to the USA
The loss of an order for 40 787s as a consequence of the death of the A380 program isn’t going to dampen the celebrations at Boeing!
Feb 17, 2019, 10.24 AM / Emirates has ordered A330neo and A350
If I interpret the other comments correctly, it seems that the flight is being perated by a 787, as an interim measure possibly while they wait for additional 787s so that new routes can be added. I flew on a similar 787 flight MEL-PER last year and was able to select a premium economy seat on m...
Feb 14, 2019, 09.25 AM / Qantas Boeing 787-9 Brisbane to Perth business class meals
The 787-3 was to have been a 787-8 with a reduced wingspan and using blended winglets rather than raked wingtips. The reduced wingspan was targeted at gates that were used for 757 and 767s. As an alternative to A330s on the triangle routes, the 787-3 would have been less effective than the 787-...
