I think showers are very unrealistic here. The only aircraft which have showers are the A380s of Emirates and Etihad. Space will be at a premium on these singe-deck aircraft and every bit of weight carried will add up, and water weighs a lot. Much better for Qantas to offer access to an arrivals ...
Feb 26, 2019, 02.12 PM / What do you want from Qantas' Project Sunrise first, business class?
If you don't want to "fly dry" from Brisbane to London you can choose to fly with at least a dozen other airlines.
Jan 18, 2019, 02.26 PM / Royal Brunei will fly to Brisbane from June
Might be helpful to know a bit more about the timeline of these things. Seats are chosen at least a year before aircraft delivery and that's assuming they are selected from the aircraft manufacturer's catalogue of pre-approved designs, have minimal customisation and are 'line-fitted' by Airbus or...
Jan 17, 2019, 05.01 PM / United's Boeing 787s to get a Polaris business class upgrade this year
Well this is a bit of a surprise, I would have put money on Qantas following in Emirates' footsteps, very pleased to hear they are going to be treating their loyal frequent flyers the same as those making a normal paid booking.
Jan 15, 2019, 08.21 AM / Qantas says it won't scrap chauffeur service for points-based bookings
Nice scoop AusBT! Melbourne deserves a 'proper' Hilton, just a shame we will have to wait this long for it.

It looks as if Virgin Australia is joining Qantas is clamping down on weighing checkin bags ion domestic flights. This in today from VA: "We know our guests like to bring everything but the kitchen sink in their carry-on baggage, but from next week (w/c 10 December) we’ll be aligning with t...
Dec 07, 2018, 09.15 PM / Now Virgin Australia is cracking down on hand-luggage
As a longtime reader and commenter I have certainly noticed the change in AusBT's content over the years, it started as 100% airlines, travel and aviation but the site has been around for 8 years now and I don't know of any website which has not changed over the years. Most businesses changes and...

He is a tosser but I would agree that lightly 'grazing' is better than tucking into three-course meals when you are flying. As much as possible I have my 'main meal' in the lounge, this is very easy at the Qantas Sydney First lounge with such a great menu but no massive dishes and the ability to ...
Apr 03, 2017, 09.02 AM / Gordon Ramsay says "There's no f*cking way I eat on planes!"
BA is better for short trips around the UK and Europe, just collect all your Avios and award seats are easy to find and cheap to buy. The more of your flying will be with BA the more it makes sense to join BA Executive Club and credit to them. Also if you fly back to Sydney you can use BA and cha...
Mar 07, 2017, 12.44 PM / London-based flyer: Qantas Gold vs BA Silver?
Only worth doing for a very long layover, three hours is plenty of time thankfully! But you can see how Qantas has tried to discourage JQ travellers from using the QF lounges!
