EK doesn't have much choice. They only have 777s and 380s. They are also able to spread demand for 140 destinations across a single connecting flight. That EK is adding seats to AU-DXB to make up for QF pulling seats, thus allowing QF pax access to non LHR destinations in Europe while reducing sea...

Most issues with such routes come down 5th freedom rights and what is allowed under the air service agreements.
Mar 15, 2018, 04.17 PM / The big switch: Qantas changes London stopover from Dubai to Singapore
The only thing I liked about DXB was the Concourse A lounges. The rest of the airport was terrible. Will have to see if the PER-LHR works, or if QF goes back to having a stop over somewhere after a year or so.The QF SIN lounge is going to get even more insane then it has been. It currently serves ...

Mar 21, 2018, 03.54 PM / QF Route Map Wish List
Wish lists are nice and all, but what is legal under the air service agreements also needs to be considered. Some routes, depending on range or aircraft type available may also require 5th freedom rights to be worth while. Not much point running, for example, SYD-MEX-MIA if they are then not allow...
