Fair point. This is where airlines hold back benefits in order to avoid cannibalizing demand for business. If they make PE too attractive, some may choose to trade down to PE from Business especially on day flights when sleep isn't an issue. Especially those premium leisure travellers (who don't ...
Jan 15, 2018, 05.57 PM / How to get airport lounge access when flying premium economy
Perhaps the Dine on Demand was a smoke and mirrors way of providing a catering 'enhancement' without improving the quality, which is the fundamental problem here. Looks like it's backfired as passengers are still complaining about food quality. As many others have said already, CX catering in its...

For a country of 23 million or so, we already have 4 domestic carriers. Unless we want to see service and quality drop across the board, I don't think we can handle more competition that's financially sustainable.

Great review. Qantas' hero product on the 787s is Business. It's where they make the greatest margin per seat. I reckon they've deliberately created a PE product that doesn't risk cannibalising demand for Business but that still has enough bells and whistles (esp in catering and general 'feel') t...

Totally agree. Don't forget that Eurowings are not part of Star Alliance so there will be no Star Gold recognition on the Eurowings services. The Euro J product may be similar to LH J, but without the other benefits to match. I think LH don't want to cannibalize their Frankfurt and Munich hubs, s...

Unless you're in Business, SQ don't look after their Star Gold members well in SIN at all. The Kris Flyer Gold lounge in Singapore is poor. With oneworld Gold you get access to QF, BA and CX lounges at Changi which all have showers (SQ Gold lounge doesn't). Sadly, SQ don't treat their non J and F...

For intra Europe flights on Lufthansa Group, Aegean etc... The LH Senator Lounge is great as these flights leave from 2A. I was there last week flying to Athens and considered going to 2B to check out United, SQ etc but the return journey back to 2A takes 40 mins. But the SQ and UA lounges are pr...

Good point Michael Kao. Garuda have transformed themselves product wise, including new aircraft and an on board hard and soft product that is excellent. But money can't change a safety culture which is entrenched, as with many Asian carrier, in subservience to the Captain. That can be an issue on...

Most customers BA cares about are their top tier frequent fliers - namely oneworld Emerald and Sapphire. They know these people get lounge access and most will be eat there before the flight and perhaps chage their behavior to visit the lounge now that BoB is being introduced. These people won't ...
