  • Sounds good but it will have to go some way to compete with Readly, which I use all the time both at home and when travelling. Readly lost some good titles last year when Bauer pulled the plug on Empire movie magazine among others, maybe those have moved to Apple News+.

  • I think Cathay needs to be looking at a better sleep experience such as a mattress cover and even PJs. Dine on demand is great for the business traveller but could be too 'hard' for CX to deliver unless they add more crew, as I think that's been a bit limit in the past.

  • This takes me back, a real 'blast from the past'! My first car was a Mini Cooper, very spartan but hugely fun. It looks like the designers of this new model really understood and recreated what the Mini was about, giving it all the modern convenience touches but not at the expense of fun driving.

  • Soft product has only recently been upgraded across the international fleet, that's covered at the article. I recently flew BA's A380 from Hong Kong to London, the bedding and meals are a quantum leap from what it used to be. Crews can be a bit of a mixed bag, I will give you that. Some are great...

  • 'Met the standard'? More like far exceeded the standard! As the article says only three other airlines have business class suites, two of those are the same Vantage XL Suites product, ie Delta and China Eastern, the other is of course the QSuite. And looking at those I would say the BA Club Suite...

  • Korean Air is obviously going to be the fastest way, as it's a direct flight of 10 hours, and at least the flight from Brisbane is in daylight hours, but you're right, the A330 business class seat isn't the best experience. Cathay Pacific is certainly a good option, it has a better business class...

  • Maybe some major corp client is doing a massive junket charter, but it's still strange the charter is just one way?

    Feb 20, 2019, 06.44 PM / Qantas Airbus A380 Melbourne-Tokyo on Oct 21 2019

  • Qantas will fly an A380 between Melbourne and Tokyo/Narita on October 21, instead of an A330, as flights QF97 and QF80. Apparently the Tokyo-Melbourne flight QF80 is a charter flight so it's not available for booking but the Melbourne-Tokyo flight QF79 can be booked. Not as good a business class ...

  • Seat61 is a great resource for train travellers anywhere in the world. As for Hong Kong to Shanghai, your best bet would be to catch the new high-speed train to Shenzhen or Guangzhou. Get off at one of the major interchange stations, either Shenzhen North and Guangzhou South, and connect to one o...

  • Very likely, as this has been rumoured for a while.
