Agreed, my wife actually prefers the 2-2-2 layout, as we get to interact and enjoy each other's company more throughout the flight. The suites are great for solo travellers, but terrible for going on holiday, you hardly see your partner until you arrive. At least Air New Zealand have the seat arr...

Only thing I will add is - yes, you can buy Airpoints Dollars, with one credit card in NZ (KiwiBank). But only worth it for small top-ups, or for partner redemptions.

Wine all the way thanks. I love being uncontactable for many hours at a time. I feel like it’s one of the last places you can thoroughly enjoy some private ‘me’ time.

Hi Chris - I noted for my LATAM flight this morning to Sydney from Auckland that the business queue had the oneworld Ruby logo on it, so I presume that you’ll also have priority boarding for them.

Also depends on whether you’re from AU or NZ. If you’re from NZ, you can take out a Kiwibank-issued Airpoints Mastercard, and then buy Airpoints Dollars for $1 NZD each. That way, you can always top up to bridge the gap between how many APD you have and the base fare.
Nov 03, 2017, 03.34 PM / Using Airpoints
I was looking likely to not earn Gold one year, and Qantas sent out a pack saying I had been offered complimentary Gold for another year (I was only about 50SC off). I earned it anyway in the end but it's made me wonder each year now whether I need to bust my arse to keep earning it back now that...
