  • ChrisCh, many thanks. Great. Its Manila lounge is poor - some would say 'very poor' - but the inflight magazine claims that a new one is being built. Much needed - that's one area where most other airlines including MH (an exception is BI) are streets ahead of the Filipino flag carrier.

    Mar 21, 2018, 12.07 AM / Malaysia Airlines' Airbus A350 business class (Kuala Lumpur-London)

  • This five across J configuration is inferior to Philippine Airlines 1-2-1 A333 out of Melbourne and Sydney yet that's an airline you don't appear to have reviewed. Can you please do so given it's about to raise frequency from MEL to 5x week, and already flies daily from Sydney? The placement of ...

  • The way QF treats passengers is way inferior to a number of Asian airlines. That's the rub here: many prefer other airlines. PER - LHR likely to be a commercial failure.

Mar 12, 2018, 07.50 PM / Qantas wants four classes, 300 passengers in ultra-long range jets

  • Naysayers don't realise we have lots of places in between Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Newcastle and Sydney, and Sydney - Canberra - Melbourne that would grow far more if we had high speed trains. Shepparton, Wagga Wagga, Goulburn, Taree, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Ballina. It's been incredibly succes...

Jan 16, 2018, 06.01 AM / High-speed rail now rivals air travel on key Asian, European routes

  • About time we had high speed trains. This air route would lose millions of passengers if we had this other more efficient, comfortable and less stressful method of transport.

  • Yes, even the choice of colours for the QF A380 seats looks drab, dated and frankly, depressing. Other airlines so much better. I can't understand how QF can charge such high fares when so many other airlines, particularly Asian ones, beat the pants off QF. Maybe many Australians who travel on...

Mar 21, 2018, 08.55 AM / Photo shoot on tarmac outside Qantas Sydney first class lounge

  • There is so much competition on many routes that you may be able to find a lower priced competitor than QF who gets you there and back during a weekend.

Nov 23, 2017, 01.45 PM / Minimum stay away on sale fares

  • Unfortunately UL (Sri Lankan Airlines) has a similar tale of woe. BI (Royal Brunei Airlines) has also had a chequered history.Notably, Singapore Airlines (efficient, great passenger service, non corrupt but non democratic government), Philippine Airlines (which almost folded for good in about 19...

Oct 25, 2017, 07.08 PM / Malaysian Airlines CEO Peter Bellew Quits

  • Am I correct to suggest that the fares to Africa ex Oz on a per kilometre basis (nautical mile if you must) are far more expensive than to South America? I reckon fares to the latter have declined in recent years, but to the former flights remain expensive whichever airline one chooses.

Oct 25, 2017, 01.25 PM / Warning: South African Airlines technically trading insolvent

  • The part of QF's offer that is 5000 QFF points is extremely mediocre: that part may be 'worth' as little as A$50.I would send a letter via Australia Post - not an email - to Qantas' head office in Mascot, Sydney and politely ask for an improvement in the offer. You could include an itemised note o...
