Save 40% on Qantas Club airport lounge membership

Save 40% on Qantas Club airport lounge membership

Planning to join the Qantas Club? Then now's the time to act with savings of up to $900 on the total up-front costs for new members.

This deal brings a straight discount of 40% across the board, knocking a one-year pass down from $939 to $563.40, including both the membership cost and Qantas Club's usual joining fee, while two-year all-inclusive memberships are lowered from $1,379 to $827.40.

Splurge for four years and it'll cost you $1,349.40 – which works out to just $337.35 per year – instead of the usual $2,249 price.

But you'll need to act fast: the deal runs only until Friday May 25, 2018. Wait until Saturday morning to join and you'll pay full price!

Existing Qantas Club customers seeking to renew their membership are excluded from the offer, as are those taking out new partner or corporate memberships.

As Qantas tends to run these promotions every May, if you've previously joined Qantas Club at a discount via an earlier sale, your membership won't expire until the end of May in its expiry year, so you unfortunatley won't be able to 'join again' this month to take advantage of the discounted rate.

When you are a member, however, Qantas Club provides access to selected lounges when travelling on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number, while also getting you through the barriers at priority check-in with a boosted baggage allowance on Qantas and Emirates flights.

On Australian domestic flights, that lets you pack 32kg rather than the usual 23kg maximum in economy, while you can bring an extra bag when bound for North and South America in economy and premium economy.

There's no additional allowance when booked in business class or first class on those flights, although you'll get an extra 12kg on all other Qantas international services and also most Emirates flights wherever you choose to sit.

Qantas Club members departing on domestic flights from Brisbane can also make use of Qantas Premium Lounge Entry: a private check-in and security screening channel which emerges in the centre of the lounge precinct.

To sign up, head to the Qantas website.

Nope, the only lifetime memberships you can get through Qantas now are Lifetime Silver and Lifetime Gold, which you have to earn from flying.

I wanted to buy the senior life membership and thought I'd wait until I needed to renew the regular membership. Sadly, when I went to do it, Qantas had discontinued the life memberships that same month.
