JAL now offers free inflight Internet on all Japanese flights

Japan Airlines is now providing free inflight WiFi across all domestic routes.

The Oneworld member and Qantas partner previously charged passengers ¥400 (A$4.70) for a quick 30 minutes or between ¥500 (A$5.90) to ¥1200 (A$14.15) to stay connected throughout the entire flight, depending on the length of the flight and the type of device you're using.

But no more: JAL's sky-high WiFi service is now free of charge on the airline's domestic network, and available from five minutes after take-off until five minutes before landing.

Domestic flights operated by JAL subsidiary JTA (Japan Transocean Air) are also included in the free surf-fest.

Is it also available on JAL Express ? Or for that matter, Jetstar Japan? Free WIFI on just JAL domestically wont do it for me.

I used this service during a recent work trip around JP, and the user-experience was just fine. The bandwidth is choked back to under 1MB/S, but this isn't really an issue for light surfing, emails, etc.
I believe they are using Gogo's Ku platform (NOT 2Ku) for this service. It runs via the Astronics Aerosat gimballed antenna.
