    That foot well looks incredibly awkward for sleeping! Do the decision makers actually try these products beforehand? I would call this a step backwards unfortunately.

    If it is anything like the existing A380, there are certain rows that have a full width foot well, row 96 I think, maybe check on seaguru.com

    Grannular, you said it right! That foot well looks even more constricted than previous iterations. I found the awkward angle, combined with incredibly hard surface to be uncomfortable on the current 777 product. This one looks even worse. I like SQ; I really like it a lot. But it's these overlooked details which make me consider other airlines for at least some of my longhauls.

    Terrible decision on the footwell position - I flew QF A330 out & Singapore 777 back from Singapore last week, I found the seat awkward. Lying at a weird angle is not comfortable. The offset model Qantas uses is much more pax friendly.

    I prefer the A350 design over these but still that seat pitch looks tight. I always aim for row 11 on all their aircraft where available followed by the other bulkhead rows. I assume the same will apply with these new seats. If would be useful you could add a photo of a bulkhead seat in the actual review.

    I’ve spotted another picture doing the rounds of a business class window seat bulkhead and it does not have the bench area for your feet that the A350/777/previous A380 J class had. It has the same angled area.

    Unless the photo was a bogey or I’ve misunderstood what I’ve seen, it looks like the only bulkhead J seats with a bench area at the foot instead of the narrow footwell, are the middle “double bed” seats.

    That seating is just awful. What was wrong the the original business class seating on the A380? This is a step backwards. Business is becoming more like economy.

    Agreed, that original seat remains my favourite J seat ever. The sense of space remains unparalleled and the mod cons other seats now have that it didn’t don’t bridge the gap.

    I agree with the above comment re preference of a350 seating over this new seating. I still think this seat will be industry leading although it does show that comfort in terms of seat pitch and space are slowly being eroded and replaced by gimmicks such as slick new plastics and technology such as wifi and internet. A necessary decision to keep an aircraft like the a380 economically viable I suppose.

    What’s with a chunk of the window being behind part of the seat? Some of us like to look out the window. Where are the A380 window bins - are these seats on the lower deck?

    Business class is on the upper deck, however the new seat design appears as though it precludes the window side storage bins. I could be wrong, but it looks like they’ve been nixed.

    It would have been more pleasant IMO for the seat to be window side, and the main shell/divider to be aisle side.

    The seat-shell blocking the window view seems like a rather strange move.

    Honestly, have a look at that rediculous angled lying position "across" the seat! As I have said before I will "never" fly long haul again with SQ (and I am Gold) as I am still getting over my Adelaide to London return with this truly bizarre, uncomfortable and quite frankly stupid seating/lying position. My official complaint fell on deaf ears.
    Look out for some very cheap business class fares in the future with SQ!

    Yes, while SQ is a great airline, surprising that it did not test the seat with a user panel. If it did, the users can't have tried to sleep as where one has to place feet looks uncomfortable. That said, SQ is still miles ahead of QF in staff attitude and food, as well as having much better reliability and punctuality.

    I like the finishes very much but I'd really prefer a conventional herringbone/reverse herringbone or staggered layout to this. Very awkward looking.

    Look, I love SIA, but I've got to say that based on these photos, this design looks like it wasn't very well thought-out.

    Adding to the comments above about the narrow foot well and window blind being blocked by the seat shell - what about the position of the seatbelt? From the picture, it looks as if the right hand belt mounting will be sitting in the middle of your lower back once you angle across to place your feet into the footwell cubby. For people like me who like to sleep with the belt loosely fastened, I can't see any way that will be comfortable.
