Would you be crazy to fly BNE-SIN-LAX (all on the A350 mind you), and if it costs $2000 less than QF?

I'll need an extra book or two, but I don't see a reason not to.

Especially if you can Book the Cook the whole way

Absolutely not. If you have the time, that's a brilliant trip on quality product. Plus plenty of SCs for a Velocity account. Try and get yourself a long stopover, say five or more hours in SIN. You can dash out and hit Chinatown for some chili or butter crab, have a shower in Silverkris lounge then relax for the LAX flight.

BNE flights connects to the LAX flight one way within 6 hrs and the way back it connects within 90mins, unless you go out of your way to choose a bigger layover. It is crazy amount of flying!!! I'm super tempted. However, VA have a great deal for $5300 for BNE-LAX, and i'm already VA Platinum for next year, so i'm trying to spread the love.

If your travelling in J, hell yes! Singapore's soft product i think is much better than QF and though controversial, their hard product is good too. This will be a case of the 787 vs a350 and i think saving 2k and earning more status credits win it in my book. Plus you get to experience the lounge at Singapore and BNE.

Not crazy but you can't beat VA J across the Pacific IMHO.

BNE-SIN-EWR however on SQ in J - now that would get me interested....

You have the inconvenience of the extra security check in SIN. If you are carrying duty free from the US, it could be confiscated. Other than that, no reason.

A good trip and 'though I have no B787 experience - only A380 is better than A350.
Last week at HKG transferred duty free airside to onward flight, they just re-scanned it to prove it was whiskey and resealed it after the scan!
Don't they have that facility at SIN?
Maybe HKG is the world's number 1 ?

not crazy at all. SQ J is far superior to the Skybed QF offer as a J product on the A380. I would avoid it. If its the 787 service then I would do it to get more SC and points. Plus i dont see QF product worth a 2k premium.

BNE-LAX on QF is 787.
