You can always do Book the Cook and if it isn't to your liking, you can order off the menu as well. I have done that in the past when I just didn't feel like eating what I had pre-ordered. Although I guess you may not get first dibs at the choices if you do that that way.

You can also view the menu for your upcoming flight a week before departure through 'Manage My Booking' on the SQ app (maybe website too, didn't check).

You'll see a link 'view menu for your flight' in the area where you choose your BTC meal.

I like it because it means you'll never miss out on your preferred meal choice (and can order things not on the normal menu), but I'm usually more inclined to choose my meal in the week or so of the flight... for an early booking, there's no way I'm going to know a year in advance what I'm going to want to eat!

Can recommend the lobster, breakfast dim sum, the duck main, breakfast waffles and Pad Thai, depending on what's available on your flight at the time of day.

I have a mid-night departure from BNE coming up in few weeks and I have been wondering if 'book the cook' is offered for red-eye flights. I really don't think I will want to eat at 1:30 am, so not that fussed. However, I have a connection from SIN to BKK leaving next morning around 9:45, also on SQ, so I may take up Chris's recommendation & go with the dim-sum's for brekky. So excited, cant wait.

BTC isn't offered on flights departing Brisbane - only from Sydney and Melbourne in Australia (but available on all flights from Singapore *to* Australia).

Here's a full list of where it's available (based on departure city).

On top of Chris's recommendations, I think the satay, Indian lamb shanks or the Biryani are all pretty good too.

I spoke to SA only a few days ago about BTC.  You can only book it 3 months in advance but it doesn't say that anywhere on their website.

Not sure in the three months - I selected my lobster in July for a December flight...a few months of anticipation...ha

That's odd - I've had it offered as early as 11 months before the flight!

(Booked an SQ flight using United miles, and the United agent put me through to their SQ liaison because they were having problems with seating. SQ sorted out seats and then offered to add any Book the Cook selections over the phone. Didn't take them up on it being so long before the flight, but did ask them to load a cake, and they did.) :)

just don't pick the sushi, i predict it was at least 1 day old when they served it. Bland and almost frozen. The lobster is nice and so is the satay. If your in first on the A380 the caviar meal is amazing along with the shot or 2 of vodka!

Yes I've used it travelling Business Class and Preimum Economy. It's great as you get to pick what you want. Especially as I dislike seafood.
Yes as some else commented on they won't run out of meal options if you book the cook as what happen on one of my flights to the gentleman next to me.

Don't forget the breakfast, the poached egg is better than you would expect

I have used BTC on. Several occasions and on others have just selected from the menu.
In my experience the menu offerings are tastier and the choice is good anyway.
