Sudden high volume of blocked seats on QF

By Aidan | Apr 17, 2019, 11:20 PM
Hi there,

Have a flight booked in July on QF95 Mel-lax. Checked today and both flights on this day for Mel-lax suddenly have almost all economy seats blocked,
Would anyone here know why ?

Popular flight?

Has your status dropped? What status do you have?

If history is true to form, closer to the date, many will be released. It’s a ploy Qantas use.

I'd suggest either your status isn't high enough or the flight is full. You mentioned July. Is it in school holidays?

Watching most QF flights this does seem to be the case these days. Is it the same when you try to pay for seat allocation? (Assuming you’re in economy class?). Or you might need to wait for T-80.....

Always peon Bronze.. Happening to other users on different forums. So it’s not isolated..

I’m in business, but I check seat maps in ExpertFlyer as a weird procrastination task..
In this case ignorance is bliss.

Sounds like the most logical reason. Holding seats for the higher fare buckets I would imagine and drip feed them out to the market.
The Qantas self initiated stop loss !

July is peak Summer season in the USA.
