Qantas QF9 (Melbourne-Perth) lounge access

By Mjudd | Apr 17, 2019, 07:23 AM
Hello,
QF09 obviously departs from the international terminal in Melbourne, when bound for Perth and onto London.
I have access to the Qantas First Lounge, however I have been there so many times, I was wondering if I will have access to other lounges in Melbourne, even though I am only doing the Melb-Per route?
Thanks

Emirates lounge is a good option, from memory they open pretty late and you may be called to board before setting foot inside!

Depending on the flight's departure time, there's also a Cathay Pacific lounge that may be open (although it's nothing flash).

Naturally, there's also the Qantas business class lounge, and if you have Priority Pass, you could use the Plaza Premium Lounge. There's also an AMEX Lounge for eligible cardholders, as well as the Marhaba Lounge and The House (formerly the Etihad lounge) but which aren't part of Priority Pass, so entry would only be available if purchased.

Finally, there's the Emirates lounge, although I'm not sure whether Qantas+Emirates agreement covers access on domestic-only tickets such as this, but it doesn't hurt to try.

(I'm excluding the Singapore Airlines and Air NZ lounges, of course, as there's no access for Qantas business class or paid entry options.)

I don't think you can do better than the Qantas First Lounge when it comes to Melbourne.

I recently did this trip on QF9 domestic only and got into the Emirates lounge. I arrived about 2 hrs prior and the lounge had just opened and I was the first one in. That was in daylight savings time though. Not sure what the Emirates schedule is like now.
