No Qantas points deducted for change to award booking?

Hi all,

I called Qantas to make a change to my reward booking by adding additional segments into my existing itinerary. I already got the new ticket a few days ago and there is also a hold on my credit card for the taxes and fees. However, there is no points deducted from my ff account. Has anyone experienced with this? Is my booking safe considering I've already got the new eticket number(I used Checkmytrip), not just PNR?

Just log in again this afternoon and the points were already deducted.

I had a similar experience approx. 4 weeks back with no change fees deducted. I had a valid reason, Qatar having swapped aircraft on the Perth route and no longer First Class available. When changing the flights and adding additional segments (as the flights now were available) I wasn’t charged the change fee points.
Maybe QF does sometimes waive them if you have a valid reason.
