Brisbane Flights to New York via LAX

Does anyone know whether upon arrival at LAX - onward to NY - do we have to change from the international terminal at LAX to domestic terminal when travelling through to NY with Qantas. Cheers

No, you clear US immigration and Customs, pick-up and re-check your bag if you have one (even if it's tagged through to New York: you can drop it off at a transfer counter), and then proceed through US security at TBIT where you'll board your onward flight.

Wouldn't it be nice to do a complete prescreening for all non stop US flights in Australia to avoid the arrival bs.

Agree with you Reno. It always amazes me, that when transiting internationally in the majority of world airports, you need to be rescreened. You have already been screened at least once, what is likely to have changed since the first screening?

Yes, absolutely. But the airline/s (QF, VA, AA, UA, DL) would have to pay for it. Which means the passenger would end up paying for it. That will be fine with some, but others will moan about higher fares......
