HSBC QFF Plat T&Cs — wording

By watson374 | Apr 21, 2017, 12:36 AM

For HSBC's Platinum Qantas Credit Card, the terms and conditions state that: ' "ineligible transaction" means a transaction which is debited to your account and takes the form of one or any of the following ... (e) a fee or charge, including government fees or charges such as registrations, rates, licenses, infringes or Australian Taxation Office payments'.

Would this clause exclude utility bills and rent? Does anyone have any experience with HSBC's interpretation of this clause?

I just need to know how much already-planned forward travel I need to lock in before the three-month period to reach the requisite spend for the 60,000 bonus points ends.

Utilities and rent aren't 'government spend', they're utilities and rent. ;)

Government spend is as indicated: rates, ATO, car rego... that sort of thing. :)

Awesome—I was more worried about the 'including' bit, which I thought carried an implicit 'but not limited to'.

Thanks for this, Chris!
