Park Hyatt Melbourne

My wife and daughter just spent two nights at the Park Hyatt Melbourne on their way home from the Sunshine Coast, they have a beautiful blonde Labrador named Mr Walker who hangs out in the foyer.

How cool is that?!?

That particular hotel is a favourite of mine.

Mr Walker is himself an ambassador of Guide Dogs Victoria, and a very effective one, I would say!

I personally find it a bit tacky when I stay there, just a novelty for the sake of it rather than serving any real purpose.

One day you may need a guide dog like Mr Walker.

Love it. Is he a fairly new resident? I don't recall meeting him on previous visits, but it has been a while. I will certainly look for him to say hello on my next stay in a few weeks.

Unsure how that justifies having one sitting in a 5 star hotel?

...and why not? It clearly works for the hotel and is a great initiative. Obviously the guests love it otherwise they wouldn't do it.

It's definitely a unique selling point, and a great banner showing and bringing attention to a cause that's important for the hotel.

Good for them!

Unless I find a dog hair in my food, it's definitely not a down point

Staying there in April next year when I take my wife to the Harry Potter play. Can anyone confirm if the breakfast they offer as part of the club room is continental or a hot breakfast. Their website doesn't seem to have much info on it.

Have stayed at PH Melbourne many times. I was last there about 6 months ago. Club breakfast is now downstairs in the restaurant, along with everyone else. It's an extensive buffet, with hot food prepared to order - which is great for the better quality, not so great for the wait at busy times. There may have been a small supplement for hot, I don't remember.

I agree with d platinum,no place for a dog.

Plenty of hotels in Europe and the States allow dogs.

Doubleplatinum: You have received numerous warnings in the past regarding posting personal remarks and attacks on the site, including a final warning, and as we've said to you before, these warnings need not continue. As you repeatedly ignore AusBT's published comment policy despite these warnings, a decision has been made to suspend your commenting privileges for one week. If, after your return, you ignore that policy again, that suspension will become permanent.

We have also edited and/or deleted several of your recent posts in line with this policy to remove such remarks.

Russell: We would also remind you of the same policy, specifically: "Don't attack others for their opinion: if you disagree, then make your case. But stay objective and stick to the topic." One of your posts has been removed in line with this also, although we hope that to be a one-off occurrence.
