I missed my QF connection back to Aus from HK last night due to a delayed DragonAir flight out of Shanghai.

Cathay have mooved me over to a cathay flight tonight, so i will be 24 hours behind.

Is there any scope for additional compensation?  I did find a cathay document that mentioned 600euro??

What made the whole thing worse was that they booked me a hotel back in Kowloon and  "free" shuttle bus.  Three hours after getting off the plane I finally made it to the hotel..!

I dont think you are entilted to anything.

The 600 Euro compensation is an EU law for flights / Airlines originating or operating from Europe, but you never mentioned flying from Europe.

Anthony, I understand there are EU rules for flight delay compensation, which would apply to CX flights between Hong Kong and EU cities.

I had an overnight stay in Hong Kong earlier this year due to a missed CX-CX connection and they put us in the Hyatt at the airport.  Perhaps in your case they had run out of rooms there.

I was told that flights were frequently delayed out of HKG due to congestion, also delaying the returning flight.
