United status match benefits on Air NZ

By iM | Apr 25, 2018, 10:30 AM
I just had my three month status match approved by United, which gives me Star Alliance Gold. I'm flying Air NZ premium economy  Syd/Akl/Lax return in a couple of weeks, how do I use my newfound status to gain lounge entry in those three ports??

You should be able to access the Air NZ business class lounges in SYD/AKL and LAX with your United gold.

So just show the United app with the status listed?

It should appear on your boarding pass with star gold and will scan green when entering the lounge.

You must have the United number as frequent flyer program in the booking otherwise Air NZ will not grant access.

Yes but as Henrus mentioned best you have the UA mileage plus number in your booking. I have it on my App but always include on my AirNZ tickets.

Thanks. I got on to Air NZ and they updated the booking to incorporate the United details. All good now .

Did you find they updated your electronic/app membership card to reflect the new status?

I saw in the United rules:
  1. Premier membership materials will be not issued for the 90-day Offer Period. You may enjoy Premier benefits on United®- or United® Express-operated flights by providing your account number when making reservations or at check-in. During the 90-day Offer Period, you may not have access to all reciprocal Premier benefits with United's partners, including access to Star Alliance lounges.
