Using Velocity Silver to upgrade to Delta Comfort plus

Quick question.


Flying Delta economy on Tuesday through to Atlanta.


I hold Velocity silver and know you can request an upgrade to Comfort plus at check in.

In people's experience, does this normally clear without issue, provided they have the seats?

I requested an upgrade last year flying LAX-SFO and received one to Comfort Plus without issue. Like any upgrade, they will base it on Frequent Flyer Status. If you have the Delta app, I think you can request to be out on the upgrade list there too.

Have been traveling around USA domestically the past week & all flight have been over booked. I have been traveling in first.
Have noted that upgrades to comfort the past week have been denied at the gate due to already heavy loads.

Have tried to find it on the app to request with no luck. At this stage Comfort plus seems wide open.

The app lists 65 for upgrade to comfort plus, so I assume that's the waitlist.
