ANZ offers 35% more Virgin Australia credit card frequent flyer points

ANZ Rewards Black, Platinum and classic credit card customers can earn up to 35% extra Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer points this month thanks to a trio of offers from the bank and the Velocity scheme, which you can craftily combine.

For starters, manually convert your ANZ Rewards points into Velocity points throughout May and you’ll pick up 15% more points courtesy of ANZ. At the same time, Virgin Australia is providing its own 15% bonus deal for customers of selected banks for a combined 30% boost.

You can further that with an additional 5% bonus by opting-in to ‘ANZ Auto Conversion’, automatically sweeping ANZ Rewards points earned each month straight into your Velocity account for an all-out bonus of 35%.

Personal ANZ Rewards points are usually converted into Velocity points on a 2:1 basis, including from the ANZ Rewards Platinum and ANZ Rewards Black cards – so a balance of 90,000 ANZ Rewards points could fetch you as much as 60,750 Velocity points this month, rather than 45,000.

It’s a similar deal for ANZ Business Rewards customers making use of their standard 2.25:1 exchange rate, with 90,000 ANZ Business Rewards points returning 54,000 Velocity points during this deal in favour of the usual haul of 40,000 Velocity points.

Just note that bonus points in all cases are calculated on the number of points you’d usually pick up – so although you may qualify for two 15% offers and the additional 5% offer, all three are calculated on the pre-bonus figures.
