May is the month to make the most of your Velocity frequent flyer points, with Virgin Australia offering a pair of 10% bonus promotions until the month's end.
The first deal gives you 10% extra Velocity points when transferring credit card points to Virgin Australia's Velocity program.
Unlike the airline's previous offer, only selected banking partners will be taking part in the promotion – this includes American Express, ANZ, Citibank, Diners Club, Suncorp, CardServices and the Commonwealth Bank.
There's also a 10% reduction in the number of Velocity points needed to claim a free seat on any Virgin Australia flight (although the deal doesn't extend to partner airlines such as Air New Zealand, Etihad and Singapore Airlines).
For example, Sydney-Perth and Sydney-Auckland flights drop from 16,900 Velocity points to 15,210 points (plus $27 in taxes), while Sydney-Los Angeles comes in at 42,300 points (plus $131 in taxes) instead of the standard 47,000 points.
Both promotions run from May 1st to the 31st – for details, click through to velocityrewards.com.au.
