  • There would be a lot of confusion when passengers are told that they can use their laptops and tablets, but not their phones.  Since most accidents occur during takeoff and landing, people may be distracted by their electronic devices rather than the crew trying to do a safety demonstration...

    Oct 03, 2013, 08.23 PM / Qantas, Virgin Australia allow gate-to-gate gadgets

  • I have only used complimentary chaffeur drive a few times, and it is very good. I didn't know that a complimentary wi-fi system was offered, that would make my journey wonderful. Last time I used this service, Brunel also contracts with Virgin Australia and Etihad.

  • I am very surprised that so many people want to pay more and get a seat in the child-free zone. As I mostly fly premium economy, I don't see this as a major issue for me. I have flown in economy before next to the baby bassinet seats from Sydney to Los Angeles, and I didn't find it a serious prob...

  • This redesigned bording pass will be much more simpler and easier to use. There should be some consistency of where certain things should be placed on the boarding passes on all airlines. Sometimes I have to highlight things like Boarding Time and Gate on boarding passes because everything looks ...

Oct 01, 2013, 09.11 AM / Should airlines redesign your boarding pass to look like this?

  • Wow, looks very good! I wonder what Virgin Australia will do with this competition. I think the 1-2-1 confirguration is a big win for business travellers.

  • Unless I wish to sleep, I don't recline my seat. However, I have never experienced people reclining in front of me and causing drinks to spill or reducing space. I think this proposal on the Brisbane Times should only be applied to airlines with tight seats, say 29 inches or less. People who pay...

  • Have there been some recent improvements to frequent flyer programs? In 2011 and 2012, we heard a lot of news about improvements to Velocity and Qantas Frequent Flyer because of fierce competition. Have there been some major improvements or new items for Velocity and Qantas Frequent Flyer?

  • I would recommend purchasing a Saver fare, which gives you 1 x 23kg bag, for a smaller amount more. Then if you need any more bags, you are charged $30 per bag, up to 3 bags in total.

    Oct 01, 2013, 09.19 AM / Domestic luggage question.

  • Your second question: Virgin Australia's Saver Lite fare (similar to Jetstar's old JetSaver Light) doesn't include checked baggage and they won't allow you to purchase any further baggage until you arrive at the airport, which does mean larger fees. Virgin Australia moved to a per piece baggage...

    Oct 01, 2013, 09.17 AM / Domestic luggage question.

  • Leslie, I think this may be in reponse of the people who constantly upgrade from Flexi to Business Class on their flights. Also, I find Qantas' Flexible fares are at high prices as well lately.

    Jul 14, 2013, 07.53 PM / Virgin Australia increasing cost of flexi fares PER-MEL-PER & PER-SYD-PER
