  • Great review, essentially mirrors my experience on this route in April. Great aircraft, excellent seat, although needs more storage, and a fixed IE screen maybe?  given the departure times I quite liked the tray based meal service, but compared to my previous Qantas flight o HK definitely l...

    Jun 27, 2016, 08.22 PM / Finnair Airbus A350 business class (Hong Kong-Helsinki-Hong Kong)

  • Agreed PK.  I am Adelaide based.  For paid tickets to Europe in Business my best option is Qatar given the timmings etc.  And by flying J I get a better lounge in Doha than my OWE status gets me.  If I fly Emirates at least I can use the Dubai First Class lounge.Honestly the o...

Jun 08, 2016, 01.08 PM / Qantas opens new Brisbane International airport lounge

  • Finnair only operates (Albeit possibly the best OW lounge in Europe) lounges at Helsinki Vantaa airport.   In the Non-Schengen zone they already have a Premium lounge that is in effect a OWE lounge.  So I assume the reference in this article is to creating an equivalent Premium lounge ...

Jun 03, 2016, 09.01 PM / Finnair considers Platinum Plus, VIP frequent flyer tiers

  • I have to disagree Mark. The benefits I assume that you would point out would be the superior business class beds on he newer SQ planes, and the 'Singapore' factor.  But Qantas specifically hose Emirates cause they needed a solution for Europe and Middle East, so that they could focus on sor...

Dec 07, 2015, 11.42 AM / Singapore Airlines plans lie-flat business class for Brisbane

  • A question from a non-virgin flyer:  I love the look and of Virgin's lounge design, and the wine/espresso bar looks uber cool.  But I get the distinct impression that the seating is on average bellow par compared to qantas lounges.  Im a QF Plat. so obviously the Business lounges t...

  • OWE travelling Qatar Business Class and transiting through Doha. Just trying to work out what lounges I can enter. Am i correct in assuming that the Doha First class lounge is ONLY for first class passengers? So even though I'm a OWE I can only access the business lounge? Has anyone experince...

May 06, 2016, 09.16 PM / OWE travelling Qatar Business Class and transiting through Doha.

  • Flying Finnair, access to AA arrivals lounge Terminal 3 LHR? Hi, I'm flying to LHR with Finnair, and as such I'm routing SIN-HEL-LHR. The final leg is a BA Club Europe flight on BA (AY codeshare). Technically this isn't a Long haul arrival into LHR, but does anyone know if I will be able to ge...

Feb 13, 2016, 05.22 AM / Flying Finnair, access to AA arrivals lounge Terminal 3 LHR?

  • Much easier for them to achieve their refit, it's only the Business cabin and galley that is have works done. Where as QF are doing the entire cabin, and possibly a 'D' check or some other major maintenance that takes a few months

Oct 13, 2015, 11.24 AM / how far has VA progressed with the refit of the A330 new Business seat programme?

  • With 14 hours you may even want to go to the city.  Not sure what you arrival time is, but if cost isnt an issue you could catch the Express train to either Kowloon or Hong Kong Island.  The Ritz Carlton sits atop the Kowloon terminal and has some of Hong Kong's best views, or for the I...

    Sep 29, 2015, 11.17 AM / Flying BNE-MAA in a month on CX.

  • I tend to agree with hutch.  The chance of an upgrade on a 747 with 58 J seats versus 28 on the A330. There are 11 or 12 747s left in the fleet, with 9 being refurbed with Skybed II (if only they had put the business suite in a few years earlier!!) So you have a very good chance of getting ...

Sep 11, 2015, 06.49 PM / I am about to book return to HKG in Dec QF128 or QF118 .
