I think he should stick to vacuums.
Mar 01, 2013, 10.40 AM / AirGo is a radical sci-fi redesign for economy seating
Oh, Air NZ is absolutely using these as marketing tools, and they've said so — they use the "little airline at the end of the world" line a lot. Even with the expense of hiring a helicopter and Bear Grylls, it's a cost-effective way of getting things to go viral. My concern as someone sub...
Feb 28, 2013, 11.06 AM / Watch Bear Grylls in latest Air New Zealand safety video
I imagine that's it, unless someone at Virgin typoed. I'm keeping an eye on the timetables to check.
Feb 26, 2013, 02.23 PM / Virgin Australia to launch Brisbane-Perth A330 service
Open question: it's well-known that BA's seat is less spacious than Cathay's and doesn't have direct aisle access. How much of a pricing percentage difference would that need to be compared with Cathay, on the Australia-Hong Kong route, for you to consider it?

Salty, with a nine-hour layover I'd totally go explore Abu Dhabi. The Sheikh Zayed mosque around 20 minutes from the airport is an absolute stunner, and there are regular tours leaving from just inside the main portico. (I don't know if mosques have porticos, but just ask.) The Yas Island, F1 tr...
Feb 21, 2013, 08.58 AM / Am flying through Abu Dhabi in May with a 9 hour layover.
Babushka, you've run into the contract lounge problem — these are very rarely included in alliance agreements, though you may have luck with a bit of pleading/arm-waving.
Feb 15, 2013, 07.34 AM / Best OneWorld lounge in BKK?
Welcome to AusBT! Do you want to tell us a little bit more about your trip so we can be specifically helpful — which class are you travelling in, which aircraft is your onward connection using, how much time will you be spending in London, where will you be staying, what will the purpose be...
Feb 13, 2013, 07.00 PM / I planning to take my first from BNE to LHR on China Southern Airlines in August.
Phil, it's a reasonable argument, but I've done a lot of conferences where it's very handy to be able to chuck a box or two of printed materials, promo items and so on in a suitcase rather than organising delivery to a hotel. And the corollary to the argument is: given that most business travell...
Feb 13, 2013, 09.52 AM / New Qantas Baggage Allowances I have just seen the new Qantas baggae allowances and it seems t...
