IN BRIEF | Qantas flights out of Brisbane and Sydney are being delayed or cancelled today due to strike action by engineers.

Up to 15 flights will be delayed out of Brisbane this evening after 5pm, due to the evening-shift engineers starting their shift one hour late.

Two Qantas flights out of Sydney have also had to be cancelled.

The one-hour stop-work by engineers is being held daily in Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.

Qantas is refusing to pay engineers from the previous shift overtime to stay on to fix an aircraft, because their colleagues are starting the next shift late in protest over pay and conditions.
