Malaysia Airlines locks in its six Airbus A380s

By David Flynn     Filed under: Malaysia Airlines, Airbus 380

Update | An earlier version of this story, based on early wire reports from the Malaysian press, indicated that MAS has received financing to purchase eight new Airbus aircraft, among them six A380s.

While this was also reported by several other global news outlets, as we dug further into the story we determined that the financing was in fact to cover existing purchase committments with Airbus, including the six A380s which Malaysia Airlines already has on its order sheet, rather than additional aircraft beyond that order.

Australian Business Traveller apologises for making a wrong call on this one – to err is human, etc – and we'll be doubly diligent in future.

As you say AusBT, to err is human! And I still hope SYD-KUL will appear back on an A380 schedule one day!
