Emirates begins daily Airbus A380 flights to Mumbai

By Chris Chamberlin     Filed under: emirates, Airbus A380, Mumbai

Emirates says ‘Namaste’ to Mumbai with the launch of daily Airbus A380 flights from the airline’s Dubai mega hub.

It’s also Emirates’ first scheduled Airbus A380 route to India, with the superjumbo found on the EK500 and EK501 flights.

Mumbai was one of Emirates’ first destinations when the airline launched in 1985, and over the past 29 years, Emirates has flown “over 42 million passengers between India and the UAE”, said Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ Senior VP, Commercial Operations, West Asia and Indian Ocean.

Emirates now has 50 Airbus A380s in its fleet which come with 14 first class suites and two ‘shower spas’, which Australian Business Traveller has tried and tested.

There are also 76 lie-flat business class beds on the upper deck and 399 economy seats filling the lower level.
