British Airways will open a new business and first class lounge at Singapore’s Changi Airport later this year, some two years after BA inherited the already-showing-its-age lounge in the Qantas/BA bust-up.
BA closed the lounge earlier this month, with travellers welcomed at the adjacent and quite excellent Qantas SIngapore Lounge – although many BA flyers have long been heading straight to the superior Qantas lounge under the privileges of Oneworld membership.
A British Airways spokesman told Australian Business Traveller that the refurbished BA lounge would open in "late (southern) summer 2015" but wouldn't be drawn on details of the lounge.
It's not known if the lounge will be closer to BA's upmarket Galleries or mid-range Terraces concept, although given the presence of two BA flights from Singapore to London – including the airline's flagship Airbus A380 – we suggest BA will lean towards luxe.
