BA to open new Singapore lounge for first, business class

By David Flynn     Filed under: Singapore, British Airways, Singapore Changi, British Airways Executive Club

British Airways will open a new business and first class lounge at Singapore’s Changi Airport later this year, some two years after BA inherited the already-showing-its-age lounge in the Qantas/BA bust-up.

BA closed the lounge earlier this month, with travellers welcomed at the adjacent and quite excellent Qantas SIngapore Lounge – although many BA flyers have long been heading straight to the superior Qantas lounge under the privileges of Oneworld membership.

A British Airways spokesman told Australian Business Traveller that the refurbished BA lounge would open in "late (southern) summer 2015" but wouldn't be drawn on details of the lounge.

Expect the lounge to contain similar touches to other premium BA lounges, including recent make-overs such as Amsterdam, given that Singapore hosts two daily BA flights from Singapore to London, one of those on the airline's flagship Airbus A380.

Can someone please explain BA's Lounges. Whats the difference between Galleries and Terraces lounges? Is one for First pax and the other Business pax?

Must admit I thought it was an age a dn style thing. Before T5 all BA lounges were Terraces, then along comes the new and shiny T5 with it's new design Galleries. Galleries then found their way into any refurbs at other ports.

So must admit reading this article where it is questioning if it will be Galleries or Terraces I too am no longer sure.

Oh one big difference in years gone by is Qantas club members were welocme in Terraces, but not Galleries!
